One Room Challenge Spring 2021 Week 3

Let’s talk closets!!

Confession. I have NEVER owned a walk-in closet. Like ever.. and I’m in my 40’s. It seems all my life I have been in the situation where closet space is sparse. I usually have to sort my “winter” and “summer” clothes in different areas of the house like the basement or other closets and do the dreaded switch out as the weather changes. So naturally you would think I would adapt and be super orgaized but you would be dead wrong. My closets are usually chaos. So with chaos in mind I usually find it so much easier when all my articles of clothing have a “home”. You know, the PJ’s in one area, socks and undies in another. They pants section and the dresses have their own little home. So with that in mind, lets talk closets. Because although I still struggle with the natural ability to organize, I have found that creating the space for each article’s home make all the difference.

We started out with a quite large footprint for the closet. Thing is, it was large but a total waste of space. I mean, the depth was so deep but yet nowhere to hang or actually put something. So tearing it all out and starting from scratch seemed to be the perfect solution.

Now that DEMO is DONE, the closet has been patched, wired for electrical and ready for a whole new layout.

Now the fun begins. We will be transforming this space making the left side the closet and the right side an office. Now more than ever, office space is essential for homes as we work remotely or go to school remotely. This closet space is about to get a whole new look. We are creating soft lines with the desk and chair. So you can expect curves and more curves.

This next week we are working on closet configuration and we are getting all the ideas from these ikea wardrobes. Lots of organization and most importantly, the long hanging rods are gone and the pegs are replaced to save space by hanging clothing facing forward. Imagine with me, this organization but WAY cuter.

We are so excited to show you the next phase and are hoping that we can get it all done in time.. Lets GOOO….

Go check out all the other amazing accounts to see what they are up to this week.
